The Most of Sports Insurance
♫ Thursday, March 10th, 2011The market for adventurous holidays is growing all the time, but that brings with it all sorts of cost implications. In doing a risk assessment any company will want to know what sorts of activities you are taking part in. For example, if you say you are indulging in some rock climbing, abseiling or caving, that might set alarm bells ringing amongst some companies.
This might not be entirely fair. If you are an experienced sportsman you might reasonably argue that your expertise mitigates that risk. However, companies are notoriously conservative and are likely to err on the side of caution with the net result you will end out forking out a whole lot more for your premium.
You can hardly blame them. After all it will cost them much more fishing you out from a hole in North Wales than dealing with a fall on the beach.
The amount you have to pay may vary depending on which company you choose to go with. Some fine firms may lack the expertise for risk assessment in such arenas, in which case it makes sense to go with a company that offers a dedicated team who can deal with sports insurance.
The benefits are obvious. Because the company knows and understands this arena, you will get a better level of service and ultimately a much fairer price. If the worst should happen and you do need extricating from a difficult situation, they will be well placed to help you out.
Sports insurance can offer cover for all sorts of different activities, but it pays to shop around. There are many different providers out there, so the more you speak to and the more you research the better the chance of gaining a good deal.
Sports insurance is just like any other financial service. The more you know and the better you prepare, the more chance you have of getting the best deal for your money. The choice is yours, but take time making it.
